This Living Lab focuses on reducing the amounts of food waste by the general public. This issue is caused mainly by buying food products in amount that exceed real need and consumption; many times people tend to over buy food products, which then are left unused in the refrigerator and eventually end up in the garbage. Meanwhile, such food can be beneficial to others with fewer resources and a lower ability to buy food. We aim to change people behavior and encourage consumers to buy food more wisely.

The students will collaborate with a local grocery store in order to understand the amounts of purchased food and leftovers.
